    Angry Tyre fitters !!!

Had 2 new tyres put on the rear wheels a few weeks back, came to try and remove the wheels today in preparation for a damn good detailing, ready for Billing and guess what ?

Yep - couldn't get the locking bolts off !

They were on so tightly that it's knackered my locknut key.
Got on the phone to the fitters and gave them the biggest B*ll*cking ever.
Reply ..... "sorry, sorry, sorry, bring it down and we'll get them off for you."

Drove to the tyre place, got them removed and then i refitted them with minimal force (just Incas the key couldn't remove them again).

Now, i asked them if they were going to replace the locknut key at their cost as it was their fault it got knackered and got the answer i was expecting........

We don't tighten them with the air gun, we do the locking bolts by hand so that they don't get overdone. Prove it was us !

It DEFINITELY WAS THEM, but nope, i can't prove it.

Soooooooo, IT MUST BE MY FAULT THEN !

I'm a big strong bloke and there's no way on this earth that i'd ever get them as tight as they were !!!

    Rant over.

I've had a garge do my nuts up so tight (sounds a bit wrong) that I actually sheared a 1/2" extension bar and pulled my back! Rediculous.

Sump plug nut was also an issue too. .....

At least the lockers are off eh

Had similar many times, I have a 2ft breaker bar with 1/2 inch drive sometimes even that on a socket with locking nut key won't shift it. Proof, as always, is the problem.

I take my lock nuts off before i get my tyres fitted now, then put them back on myself when i get home.

I asked the tyre fitter last time to not tighten them with the windy gun and he bit my head off saying he's been doin it 20 yrs, but time before he did them with a windy gun and they wouldn't budge ended up getting AA man to shift em.
I get through quite a few tyres being a taxi and found the easiest way was as mentioned..

I have flakes but feel the same, caught out 1 too many times with vaux keys... And there's more chance of the full car going then waking up with it on bricks...
