strange light on dashboard

hi there was wondering if anyone could help me out. This icon has appeared on the dashboard of my vectra i have checked the manual and it says that this symbol means that a bulb has gone but only if this symbol is red mines not red its yellow so am very confused and was wondering if anyone could help.

No, it's only yellow as far as I'm aware. Wouldn't make sense being red or yellow as the bulb is either working or not. Check your bulbs, you'll find one has blown

thats what i thought the bulb would either work or not but i have checked every lightbulb on the car and they are all on and working fine

One is about to blow then. Keep an eye out. If you have the info centre in the car it should let you know what bulb it is.

mine is doing that latey, all my blubs work and the light is on, and it say on the center dispaly too that the brake light is out.... might be the center brake light up the creek !

Yes, as the lamps get older (with use) the filament burns away to such an extent that the resitance becomes higher and thus the car thinks that it has failed. The lamp still works, but will burn out completely soon.

If a brake light fails then another bulb takes over.

i.e. the upper of the two tail lights is also the brake light, but if this bulb fails then the lower of the two tail lights takes over the role of tail & brake light.

So first impressions when you look at the back of the car to check the lights shows you've still got two working brake lights, but upon closer inspection you'll see that one of them is lower than the other one.

I had this light come on last weekend andy .. checked all the bulbs and everyone was fine .. so i thought its gotta be a bad connection so i removed every bulb and replaced them making sure thay where pushed all the home .. and hey presto the dash light had gone

cool i will remove them all and check they are all in tight
