Default MPG after performance exhaust/Redex treatment

I had an aftermarket Powerflow duplex exhaust fitted and removed the cat

After the first full tank was gone I found fuel consumption had gone from 42mpg to 36mpg on a 2.2dti

Over the last 2 tanks it increased slightly to 38mpg

Used redex diesel treatment and the last two tanks I got 42mpg and this week got 46mpg

I,m not 100% if its the exhaust getting carbed up or the Redex but there is a pleasing increase.

If anyone wants to try the Redex Tesco are selling it for £1.80 (Normally £4.99 in Halfrauds) and should do 2 tanks

Just interested if this Redex stuff actually works

I would put money on most of your MPG drop due to you driving in harder now it has a louder exhaust

Thats what I was thinking but in all honesty unless you are really booting it its not that noticable.

Ok mpg has gone up again to around 47.4mpg so Redex must be doing something as the route has remained the same as has the speed
