    Default Vectra C door problem

Door shows as open on the dashboard when clearly shut. Makes a noise telling you that it is open every time you start off as well. Is there any way of stopping this....Cheers..Colin

Sounds like a problem with the door switch or wiring. Check the operation of the switch and connections are good. HTH

Hi Tridley. Where is the switch in the door. Know that the older cars had a button that you could press in but how does this one work.

Just been to look. Looks like the switch is part of the door mechanism, bit more involved. Need to get the door lock off to investigate. Nothings straightforward these days.

Correct, it's part of the door stay that stops the door from opening too wide.

First thing to try is adjusting the slam plate - the bit on the door pillar that the door lock latches onto. You'll see it has little markings on the edge, just move it around slightly until you get it closing securely without the light being on.

nope its in the doorlock mecanisme.

(theres a how2 how to remove the doorlock, was made because of that error.. but helps for a while if you "punch the rubber in the back of where the pin from b pillar is.. that locks in to the door)
