Default engine management light on when starting

HELP!!! I will start at the begining, my car (1.9 sri vectra 2005) has had at least four egr valves fitted. So when the light came on again i booked the car in at my local vauxhall dealer. Guess what new vgr valve needed. So being a bit fed up of the dealer i decide to take it to my local garage who say that a loose terminal has caused the fault and i need a new valve. So they fit a new valve. Now when i start it no light comes on. A day later its back. So i take it back to the local garage and he says his diagnostic equipment shows no fault. But surely there must be otherwise it wouldnt be on. So do i take it back to the vauxhall garage or is there some otherway of getting rid of the stuoid little car and spanner light. Oh and since i had the new valve fitted it sort of hesitates sometimes when i floor it.WHY!!!

Could be but its a genuine vx part. Does anyone know if the dealer has to clear the fault code of for the engine management light to go out.

Blank the egr valve completely this will cause your light to cone and then take for a drive does the car still hesitate if not then dodgy egr

Just blank the inlet manifold where the egr clamps on and sanwitch it with a biscuit tin or coke can to blank it a check it only real way to prove really

Do what winnie said sounds like a definitive way of finding out one way or t'other and yes the stealer should have cleared down the codes.
