    Question Amp placement

Right. I'm happy with the idea of putting an amp in the boot to run a sub. What I'd like to know is....

Anyone who has amped their front speakers, where is the amp hidden?

I've toyed with the idea of getting a 4 channel amp, bridging 2 for the sub and using the others for the fronts, but it seems daft to run RCA cables 5m to the boot of my estate, then speaker cables 5m back to the front again!

Oh, and are there any aftermarket comps that will fit where the Vx speakers already are?

I have infinity in mine slightly smaller than factory you have to use new holes. s for the amp i havnt amplified mine have a four channel amp in boot which runs 6x9's on shelf but front ones just run off of headunit (kenwood) which is big enough to power the door speakers, hope this helps.

Default I wouldnt bother amping the door speakers....

I've changed the headunit from the fisher-price my first radio that Vx fitted for an Alpine which is rated as 4 * 50W (probably about 25W RMS) with a Sony Class D 250W RMS (thru 4 Ohms) amp.

This is plenty of power, without the sub the Alpine sounds great. With the sub 'tis deafening....
