Default Angel Eyes + HIDs + ultra white bulbs - Advice Needed

    Hello all,

    I have a Vectra C 2003 Pre-Facelift model.

I'm looking at getting a pair of angel eye headlights with some HIDs fitted
along with some ultra white lights (do they do leds?) for my fog lights and the little pilot light inside the headlight unit (i think it's called a side light or day light?)

I've searched all over the forum and have read some posts and have gotten a few clues, but nothing solid as of yet and to save my brain from melting I thought I'd just go and ask..

I'm thinknig about this angel eye unit: http://www.essexracing.com/product_i...oducts_id=1138
and have found them for £130 on ebay inc. postage.

What do you think about that unit? alternatively I could fit the angel eyes myself but I dunno how to go about doing that or where to get the parts etc...

    also second question:

what sizes are all my lights do you know? I'm guessing i'll want H7 HIDs?
I was thinking about getting 6000k HIDs from http://www.hids-direct.co.uk

Also, obviously the HID lights go into the "dipped beams" sockets, but why do i never see anybody fitting the high beams with hid kits? is it just a waste of time? Nobody actually drives with high beams on, they're only used for flashing people or when you really can't see.. - sounds like a stupid question but i'm curious, why not?

Should I go for the Slim Ballasts?

    third question:

ultra white lights for fogs and the little side light/driving light, what size are these lights? and any recommendations? I want them to match the colour of my HIDs..

    All opinions/recommendations welcome

    Thanks!

The angeleyes might throw up warning lights as they are L E D
Hids are easy enough to fit ...we got ours from Hids-direct,
you answered you own question about not using Hids for main beam ....for one you wont be able to flash your lights very quickly(cos they need to fire up) and secondly you wont need fullbeam much when you have Hids...the difference is amazing .

I'm assuming that those angel eye rings are attached to the same circuit as the side light circuit. - so when you put your side lights on the angel eyes turn on.

as long as the side light isn't blown, there shouldn't be a problem with the dash....

... except upon inspection, I can't actually see the side light bulb in that assembly? ... which means they must be completely replacing the sidelight bulb circuit, which yeah could have the possibility of causing problems... hmmmmmz.

But lots of other players on this forum have got angel eyes, are you telling me that -everybody- has fitted the angel eyes manually?

Good answer with the no HIDs in high beams question, I had no idea that HID lights had a delay on them!

Okay the last question I need answered is:

What bulb types do I have? - I'm assuming here that I have the following:

    Full Beam - H7
    Dipped Beam - H7
    Side Light - 501
    Fog Light - H3

    is this correct? ;D

my angeleyes arnt led ............so I dont get any problems I got mine from Ultimate styling ....i think you can change the tiny little bulbs to a whiter one...but thats a fiddly job and you need 16 of them .I actually prefer the yellower look of the angeleyes
...........I think ppl have got around one way or another .as it doesn't make them look like cheap halo rings

and yes the bulbs look correct

My brother has HIDs in his main beam. THey don't flash brightly but they still flash. Normal bulbs just don't cut it against the dip beams. We live in the stick so most driving at night is with main beam.

I think the essex racing website is wrong about the LED part.

check these out: exactly the same headlights found on ebay, they're made by a company called DEPO (you can see DEPO imprinted at the bottom of the headlight outer casing)

Those angel eyes don't look LED to me, they look distinctly like CCFLs.

    what do you think?

    Hey luke!

I've read your thread before actually, and I have seen the CrazyLEDs website.

    I want those speedo LEDS!!

what colour combination did you go for? blue and blue?
also how hard was it to fit? - I'm quite good with soldering but i'm not too sure about how to get the dash out to do it? :S
