New Headunit Install

Decided to install a new sony headunit into the vectra, and wanted to share the experience

Although still not too sure whether i prefer this or the original.

What do you guys think??

I think the original looks better to be honest but i bet the sony sounds much better!

Will be having fun getting my double din kenwood screen into the stereo hole soon. Think it will be tricky as the original stereo's are slightly off rectangular and they dont make a double din facia plate!

i'm sure it must sound alot better!

the factory one always looks cleaner than an aftermarket one but each ot their own.

how awkward was it fitting the sony and did you get the wiring to keep the stereo controls and computer display working?

i didnt manage to keep the steering wheel controls, but because my vec is a pre facelift one without quadlock i can still use the on board computer.

i prefer the sound from the sony, and the look from the oem.

Has your steering wheel got the three buttons on either side?
I replaced my cdr2005 with a Sony unit, plus a connects2 adapter for the display & steering controls.

The adapter also shows ID3 info on mp3 discs.

Not sure yet.
I kept my old Vectra B headunit and changer in tha loft for 2 years before refitting it to sell the car with, so I'm not sure whether to keep this one in the loft as I'll only keep the car for 3 years, or wether to sell the headunit and buy one off ebay in 3 years time when I sell the car ???

Sure.
I now don't pick the car up until Sunday so won't be changing the stereo until the folowing week, but between what sort of money are they worth?
