    Default Braked hard and bang!

Down a country road today and had to brake hard as someone coming the other way, ABS cut in and then bang......ah that will be another spring snapped Get into work and sure enough front drivers spring snapped.

Guess the car will be off the road replacing yet another quality VX spring! joy oh joy

Should not have to I should be able to use a OEM part and have confidence it will do the job is was meant to. How many people have had broken springs? Surely VX should be interested instead of saying "Yeah there is a prob with the springs" everytime one goes.....hmmm may contact Watchdog

The replacements will be improvements on the original fault prone ones.
The OEM replacement springs I'm using now seem to be better than the originals. Can't be sure, but it seems that way.
    OEM or nothing for me.

From what i have gathered they are. a guy i know his mates went & he took it to the dealers in coventry(can't remember the name) & had a set fitted under warranty.
What the service manager said was that vectra's upto ten years can get them done, if you have a second set go then i would say thats even more reason to get them fitted f-o-c?

We all know VX springs are made of jelly, so why bother replacing them with the same, it will happen again.

Get some aftermarket ones on there - cheaper and better and never worry about it again.

The irmscher springs are the same as the Eibach if that helps, just different colour, so, in a way they are OEM. Just better HTH
