    Default z22se cam chain

hi all been ringing round the local garages to get my cam chain replaced, and cant find anyone that will do it, all the garages are saying that there is no need to change it unless its rattling i said about the 100k replacement and they said if the car has been well maintained you may never have to change it unless it rattles, can someone help me out with some pointers im going on holiday in a few weeks and want to get this done(if needed)before hand

If you have a vec B i would have it changed. If it is a Vec C i would leave it as they had uprated oil jet fitted where the Vec B didnt. Obviously if it starts rattling get it changed.

Well i'd at least have the Cam cover off and have a look. And personally I'd have it changed way before 100k

The old style jet has been found in early Vec C engine's by Benny himself

All i'm saying is on a 52 plate 2.2 i'd really want to sure and not go on what VX say.

Its not the worst job to do yourself if your fairly handy with cars. Access looks awfull as normal, but take the driver side engine mount off (Very easy) and jack the engine up !
