Next doors punto got there door locks punched through last night. Now this as an annual thing round here, and ive had my previous two pugs lock done. Now was just wondering what the vec locks are like as the alarm is poo!

IIRC.. the barrels on these locks are screwdriver proof.. they just continually turn...
what i have seen is where they dig a screwdriver into the doorskin under the lock housing in an attempt to pullit out or to access the solenoid control rods...
on both occasions they couldn't take the car...just caused a lot of damage..
Dont know if thats good news or bad. Think ill be sleeping with the window open for a bit.
lol, the alarm is completely pointless, no way will you hear that if your indoors. you could always upgrade your door handles to chrome, you can order the set to exclude the key hole. . They would have a problem screwdrivering it then.Originally Posted by rushy

Tell me about it. Why o why did they put it in the boot?
some bright spark probably thought it would be different having it in the boot rather than the engine bay, how wrong they were.
A Vauxhall technician told me a few years ago (after I mentioned how **** the alarm was in my previous Vectra Elite) that Vauxhall moved the sounder a few times after having problems with it getting wet and causing problems! I'm sure they could just have made it waterproof somehow or even better fitted a bigger sounder!Tell me about it. Why o why did they put it in the boot?

I think an old post mentioned that you couldnt upgrade the sounder due to the canbus. the only option would be to get a different system fitted.
Obviously a Vauxhall Afterthought then!
