Sky+ Box - Will it work without subscription?

Quick question for you chaps.

I want to know if a SKY+ (plus) box will work without subscription?

I am using a normal sky box at the moment and I am not subscribed so its used as a Freeview box, but before I go out and buy a box, just wanted to know if the "PLUS" recording feature will work without subscription.

Sorry buddy think you need the £10 a month for sky plus subscription
This allows live pause and recording

Used to be £10/month, this only applies to HD box now. I pay no extra for my Sky+ subscription, only for viewing package i have.

so thats why he asked if he would be able to get access to skys live pause etc etc ...

i believe he just wants it for freeview so if thats the case im sure live pause and recording will not work,plus if its anything like our sat box you might need to pay out for a new card coz ours keeps telling us to renew our card and sky charge you £20 for one iirc

Your right Don. I already have a card, buts its an old one and still works. Think i will have to sit on the Sky+ idea for now.

There is one free thing you can get on the sky+ box though. You can set a programme reminder.
