i'd be most interested myself if it's possible
Check the how 2's. Im sure I saw a thread about adding a aux port to a stereo in there somewhere.
does the cd30 mp3 play mp3 cds or does just have an extra port?
Ah it was the CDR2005. How 2 is HERE
is there a way for the cd30 to play mp3's
The basic CD30 only plays standard audio CD's
The CD30 mp3, as it's name suggests, can play mp3's that have been burnt onto a CD
The CD70 Navi can also play MP3's on a CD.
Not so sure about the CDC40, but as this is the "Audio" upgrade head-unit, then I should think it does play MP3's on CD also.
None of the radios before July 2007, will have any other form of Aux-in, however there is one european forum member who has modified some head-units (CD70 springs to mind) to provide aux-in capability.
If you get a replacement head-unit from 2008 onward, then you are more likely to find an aux-in capable facility.
On the pin-out label on the CD30, it does mention RSA (?) pins, but I have not found any explanation for what RSA stands for.
This may or may not be for an Aux-In facility, as Vauxhall's TIS system states that the CD30 has connection capability for Aux-in.
(but it does not explain how to go about it).

so to be on the safe side i need a cd30 mp3 and then get an aux port put into it?
if i could gaurantee my trip computer worked and i could reset them i would just get an aftermarket number.
An easy cheat would be to get a Graphic or colour screen, and an aftermarket radio.
The screens would be able to display all your computer functions, and an aftermarket radio will have better value for money than any Vauxhall unit.
My friend from work bought a radio from Aldi for £50, it had bluetooth , mp3, SD card slot, USB and built in CD drive.
He statedthat the built in blue tooth was actually clearer and better than his Parrot Kit.
Also, if you have an aftermarket radio, then you don't necessarily need to have the display paired to the head-unit or the car, as long it isn't in safe mode.
Just a little food for thought!!
