Default Retro fitting centre console Arm rest.

Was at the scrap yard today looking for a few wee bits and bobs(typical, picked up a rear centre passenger light and managed to get the small rubber side stoppers that will hopefully stop the parcel shelf budgie) and noticed that the Vec c's they had had the Centre Console Arm Rest. I was able to see how the air vents connected to the heater motor at the front. I was wondering if anyone had retrofitted on to their Vectra? The only fly in the ointment appears to be whether or not my heater blower will have the exit point to be able to link up the rear vents. And do the seat have to be removed to remove/refit the arm rest console?
    Any help much appreciated.

Looking to retrofit a centre console with armrest myself, would appreciate if anyone had any tips where to find one other than a scrapyard and if so how to go about fitting it. Is there an index of part numbers that I could have the option of buying the part form GM/Opel/VX?

You can retrofit the centre console arm rest, air vents and all easily enough, but for the air vents to actually be any use, you need a different fan motor assembly under the dash board which is a MASSIVE job.

Contact this ebay seller 0114donclaire (actually a member here) and ask them if they have a rear centre console and arm rest for a Vectra C. Retro fitting it is very easy, there is only 4 screws holding the console in and 4 torx bolts holding the actual arm rest in place. Ask them for the 4 torx bolts that hold the arm rest in place as you wont have these. No need to remove seats.

there is no need to change fan motor assembly, it makes no sense. i mean it's just an air blower. the only difference is that the cars without standard arm rest, have a kind of tube plug somewhere behind the head-unit, within the air pipes that goes down towards the gear stick. it's kinda logic, if you don't have an arm rest with rear vents, the air must somehow be stopped from going under the center console.

as I said, there is a tube plug
behind the head-unit, within the air pipes. I saw it because i introduced a camera all the way up that pipe under the dashboard and there is a plastic "barrier" there. tried to draw out with a wire hook but didn't work. the only way is to take out the head-unit and unmount a kind of stiffening bar within the dashboard that goes from the left to the right side of the car...this is massive work and probably is not worthy for a bit of air at the rear

It's not the motor you have to change, that's behind the glove box. It's the air distribution centre you have to change, they're two totally seperate units. As mentioned in the other thread where you made this comment, there is an inner baffle fitted in the "non-rear vent" models. If you can punch through this baffle or remove it then it "may" work, but I don't know if there's other changes as well as Vauxhall list them as two seperate air distribution units.
