Vectra c problem

Hi Everybody im new to the site.

Ive got a problem with my vectra which ive only just bought, the bulb had gone in driver side so removed the air filter and fitted light. I removed the sensor and reapplied and i get the spanner light on now.

Will this reset after a few hours itself or will i have to take it too a garage.

Or maybe someone has had this problem before and can help.

Is it just when you start the car get the light? If so it's probably a stored code and should clear after 25 (I think) clean starts. You could clear it quicker by disconnecting the battery for 15 mins

Cheers for quick reply mate, sorry for sounding a bit thick is that 25 minutes or 25 hours?

And it is when ignition on as soon as engine on nothing appears

yeah sounds like a stored fault. i had the same prob a couple of weeks back when im my stupidity tried starting the car without the transponder part attacthed.. i left the battery off all night with no joy. still had all my radio, Bass & Treble settings too. ended up my mate plugged it in & removed the code (wrong transponder key used) didnt leave it long enough to see if the 30 or so restarts works as the light was going my head in. your best port of call is probs to disconnect the battery for a bit & see what happens. but like i say didnt work for me & it was a stored fault.

well the only plug i disconnected was the air filter one, and since the error has come up the range on the petrol is shooting down. i know these arnt accurate anyway but it was ok until this error appeared.

i really dont know what to do.
