    Default Help please

inlet manafold all been changed but..........

    vectra 1.9 cdti 150

Still loss of power, the erg has also been cleaned out twice.

the guy in the garage says it aint the erg valve as they don't break he said they just need to be cleaned is ths Correct ??.

Before the inlet Manafold was changed the turbo kicked in at at about 50 mph when i eventually got up to that speed but it was terrible trying to get to that speed!! very dangerous pulling off side rds so stopped driving for safty, any suggestions on what this could be.

the exhaust is not smoking at all when under heavy revving, would this indicate that the turbo is ok ?? or can it still be knackerd and not smoke?
they are going to investigate tomorrow.

thx for any help and advise

    jim

is the spanner light on? maybe some fault codes stored to indicate general area of problem.
you should be able to hear the turbo whistle as it kicks in anywhere from around 1500 revs. lots of threads on here about checking the vac pipes that control the turbo actuator, check them carefully for splits. also make sure the actuator control valve (right hand side of slam panel when bonnet open) is holding vacuum.

egr's can and DO break, even after cleaning, some still dont function correctly and its time for a new one.
