Angry Very Unhappy with warranty company

I have just got a phone call from my car garage who have my car in for a new clutch and flywheel.

I have an AA warranty and they are saying i have to pay a minimum of £400 if i want non genuine VX parts or £800+ if i want to use VX parts..

What the hell is the point in spending £700 on the top level of warranty for my car if i am going have have to pay hundreds to use it?

    Seriously bliming angry

Trying to get through to the warranty company atm but having no luck.

    GRRR

the AA Warranty is not worth the paper its written on. I had a similar problem with them with my Astra. My car broek down while I was abroad and then once I can back to the UK they said as it was abroad they can not confirm the fault (even though I had it repaired at a Vauxhall/ opel service centre).

I fought for months till they paid up.

Isn't the £400 just an excess? Surely it's stated in your policy document.

Hearing more and more of this happening now. Maybe it's time to shove 2 fingers up to warranty firms and not use them?

I dont have an excess on my policy, i only have a max claim limit of £8000 and a labour rate limit.

I have managed to sort it now.

Warranty company will only pay £150 for new clutch plate - VX have managed to get me a genuine one for £125.

Warranty company will only pay £300 for a flywheel, Vx one is £451, so they are having to order one from Euro car parts at £200.

The warranty company wont pay out on a full new clutch etc. and they will only pay £39.50 incl VAT on labour rate..

However i should only now have to pay £100ish for it all.

The AA Warranty guy was an idiot though, oh well we dont have to use genuine parts etc, we can use whatever we want.. :S

and they will only pay for the clutch plate and nothing else grrr
