Default Tuning box and fuel level beware!

When I first got my Veccy I realised that you could do at least 30 miles on a tank after range hits 0. Never ran out of fuel. When I added the tuning box I noticed the range changed to read more fuel. I remember thinking that I'd need to watch out for that.

Anyway, last night I ran out of diesel having only done about 7 miles on range 0... must just have been unlucky on that particular occassion but either way came to a spectacular halt just after some traffic lights... car stuttered and then spanner light came on. Watched as the revs dropped and that was it... game over lol! Seem to remember my petrol motors spluttered for a few miles before finally giving up. No such luck here. Spluttered and dead within 5 seconds.

Thankfully the missus came and fetched me and got it fuelled and going again without any trouble.

    Donut lol!

Why run the tank that low your not saving anything, think of the "crud" in the bottom of the tank, myself I always fill up at about 400 miles and never run it low just cannot see the reasoning.

with petrol prices going up all the time, it's cheaper to keep the stuff in your tank than in theirs.

Keep it topped up bud, it's cheaper

In fairness that's what the fuel filter is for, but I don't know why someone would run their tank that low either.

Have you guys ever looked in a feul tank? They always take the feul from the bottom, so you pick up the crud from the bottom all the time. How can it take feul from the top of the tank when its half full!!!! The pipe is at or very near the bottom!
