Default New car... what about the wheels

    Ok,

So has been a busy weekend for me... bought a pram and a vectra all in one day...

Managed to settle on a 1.8 2004 LS in a dark silver / grey'ish colour...

It has done 60k miles and only cost me 2.5K after some serious negociation and a wad of cash to sweetend the deal.. (no tick for me)...

I get the car this week after a new MOT is done on it (only had 2 months left so talked him into this) and 6 months road tax is added (again all part of the deal)...

I am well please witht he car but know it is a basic spec... Being a vauxhall nut i know a few things about these cars so have bought all the normal extra's like clear side repeaters, head unit single din cage etc...

I also have a set of 17" Astra SRI alloys in the garage which came of my other car (an Astra ) when i switched up to 18"...

I assume the off set and pcd (think that is the name fo rthe whole diamiter) are the same. Everything i can find on it points in this direction...

    My issue is over tyres...

At present the tyres (which are needing replaced) are 225/45/17 which was the standard set up on the Astra. Given i am replacing the tyres should i change to the Vectra SRi wheel settings of 225/50/17 (think that's right) or should i stick with what is on them at present? Will it make any difference to the cars speedo reading or the ride handeling?

    Any advice is much'as appreciated

    Coldo

what ....you tease us with the info of a new pram and then no details on it, AT ALL ........what sort of a terrorist are you

no seriously mate welcome to the forum and i hope you enjoy your stay stick with the 225/45's you will find them cheaper to buy than the 50's and they offer a very tiny difference in ratio to the speedo maybe 2-3 mph difference ....

and dont forget the piccys when you pick it up

you could post one of the pram in the mean time ...you know just to tie us over

ahh... quality... I thought the wheels should be ok but wasn't 100% sure...

Will get the spec sheet together for the pram... lol... What i can tell you is its 3 wheeled (Reliant style), has a single core chassy with torson bean suspension, 6" rims and is red in colour. We opted for the three in one version (That's cabrio, van and saloon versions). And most importantly it cost a fooooooookin fortune... Almost 1/3 of the cost of a Vectra...

Will get pics up asap of the car... Have a few things planed... Just need to source SRI bumpers and skirts, clear light clusters for the rear along with the break light and a full SRI or VXR interior (which i am assuming is almost as hard to get as the Astra VXR interior)....

Watch this space for pics... lol...
