    Default VXR V's GSI

I am seriously considering changing to a large petrol engine...

The VXR's are still pretty expensive but the GSI's are seriously affordable now, my question is should i bite the bullet and go for the VXR or are the GSI's a real alternative in the performance stakes??

I have seen a nice GSI on the web at quite a nice price but its along time since i have been in a GSI and i have never been in the VXR(soon though)

Other alternative is to get the wee oil burner a remap at the moment and keep it for a year until the VXR's are reasonably priced...

All input would be great as im really in a dilemma at the moment

with VXR's being advertised for as low as £15995 now, i'd hang on another 6 months and you'll pick one up for under £14K easily. Facelift Sri's are going for £11995 now and have been for some time.

Im aiming for a vxr estate in a few years when they will hopefully be a few to choose from and i wont have to pay more than £11995

    Too serious David

Maybe the remap might be the way ahead but along with doing that i would upgrade the brakes to the 314mm and maybe irmscher suspention...this alone would be the difference in price with the GSI i have seen

Advice would be great guys...or even a good loony doctor's phone number

I would not trade in for a pre facelift, which rules out the GSi, even though it`s a great car the pre facelifts are starting to look dated, I would go for either a VXR or a 2.8T elite and irmy suspension ?

Totally agree with Bainie...If you got the GSi you be wishing you had the VXR...plus I hear they might be 280bhp standard next year...

Think you should stay with your motor for the time being Steven plus a remap,
wait till the good lady has had the birth and then in about a years time, put your foot down and demand that you get a VXR, cause the shops are that far away you have to get there a lot faster to get baby Veccys milk.....

What do you say big man, good plan or what......

What Car magazine has worked out the depreciation of a Vectra VXR. They suggest a one year old VXR would cost less than 10 grand.

    http://www.whatcar.com/depreciation-index.aspx

I would wait six months, and then snap up a one year old. That way you still get two years warranty.
