    Default best chippie

    hey guys just Back home to glasgow from a week in yorkshire. Had a good day out in whitby finished the day with fish and chips from the magpie. The 2nd best ive ever had after the wee hurrie in Troon. So guys where is your fave chippie?

    I'm wi you at Troon man! Love them from there

    The local Chippie in Stewarton is usually a finalist in the chippie of the year and does serve amazing special fish suppers,,,,

    3 up here are Gormans in Morpeth, South harbour chippy in Blyth and Kielder chippy in Ashington. All fantastic but Gormans has the edge for me

    i used to like the chippy across from the helinsburgh pier but i havent been down that way for years so i dont know what there like now or if its still owned by the same person or if its even still there, oft u have put me in the mood for going there now to see if its still there and still as good arrrrrrrrrr lol

    Magpie in Whitby is very good, if not a wee bit pricey!

    Equally good is Quayside, just a bit down from The Magpie.

    There's a very nice one in Anstruther, whose name I can't recall!

    The ketch in st john,s woking open,s at 5 oc shut when he runs out usually by 9 oc its the only chippie that i know where they que up waiting for him to open absolutely brilliant fodder
    Driving vauxhall,s for 30 + years
    and still loving it

    I have tried the Ketch Bob not bad at all but the Codfather in Hedge End Southampton iis right up there with the best as is Murgatroyds in Yeadon near to Leeds Bradford Airport they are both the mutts nuts

    Chippy's just don't seem the same as they used to be. When I was a kid (lol) you could always find a few chippy's that did nice crispy chips, now I can't find one. They are either greasy or soft/soggy or a mixture of both. If any of the crew fancies chips, I do my own, lush and crispy and a fraction of the cost of the chippy.
