How does a 2.2dti drive compared 1.9cdti?

Still toying with freeing up funds and have potential buyer interest in mine!

Thing is, seen alot more lower mileage 2.2 Dti sris than 1.9s. Now I will test drive, just after thoughts on here... How do they compare? What's the figures? Can they be remapped??

Never driven a 2.2 DTi but have been a passenger in one. Its not a bad engine at all, but I know I definately prefer the 1.9

It does seem more refined, and more tourque.

I love my 2.2 DTi, never had any problems and pulls like a train still with 110k.

Nice wave of power from 3k especially. Not very tunable though. The mapping chips cost a small fortune for not a lot of power gain.

I average 42mpg as a mix of 85mph motorway and town driving.

If you get the SRi you get auto wipers and rear dimming mirror as standard as well as hydraulic bonnet lifters. Oh yeah... you also get the on board computer that monitors lights, doors etc on the dash.

It comes down to preference on the pre facelift front end.

I've had the 2.2dti in the Vec b & it was a good strong motor
Had the 2.0dti in the Vec which was also a good motor

none of them were a patch on the 1.9cdti 16v
