'riding the clutch' is usually defined as holding your foot on the clutch pedal for too long, even resting your foot on the pedal has been known to cause wear. its a bit like riding the brakes i.e keeping the brakes applied at a low pressure on a steep hill, which usually causes them to overheat and fail as opposed to short direct applications which allow the heat to dissipate.

Watch the fuel consumption as it will be using a lot more fuel while its doing a regen.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

bunsen, regen's only occur in Veccy's with a dpf fitted, which are all estates, signums and any veccy with an auto box fitted. So unless yours is an auto, your car wont have one.

when they do regen, the fuel consuption goes from .1 galls per hour at idle to around 1.8 galls per hour and regens last typically 20 mins. other than that i dont think there is any other indication, although i have heard on early cars, the glow light flashes.

so what about when your pulling up to a junction and expect to go within 2-10seconds and your using clutch control to edge for and then you stop and hold the clutch down for a few seconds before pulling off?

Yep, Vx dropped the dash indication that a regen was taking place as loads of owners thought there was a problem and kept taking them into the dealers! lol

No DPF then as yours isn't an estate.

TBH I am kind of hoping your right and I am wrong but it doesn't make much sense for the hatch and saloon to lack them
