Default Parrot - Why is there so much confusion ?

There are so many posts about fitting a Parrot kit to a veccy (or a signum, in my case), and there are so many "this works" posts, that i have got confused. I'm amazed this looks so difficult to achieve..

I will be fitting a parrot 3200 to my '07 signum elegance, which has the cd70 head unit and sat-nav...

    questions....

the parrot control box disconnects the 4 main speakers, and puts the phone audio out to the car speakers when on a call - what about the centre speaker? that isn't wired in the SOT-122 cable, so it wont be cut off by the parrot box? is that correct?

hopefully the mute connection will kill the radio/cd sound while on a call, but what about the satnav announcements? will they be suppressed while on a call? i'd rather have the phone call be the priority source of audio than the radio/cd or satnav.

would i be better connecting the parrot to the line-in connections? (that's assuming the mute works ok)...

please only post if you are 100% happy with the way yours works, i want to be in that group.

    thnx

on the sot 122 there is an extra cable that is not pushed into the connector you connect that up to the mute socket usually pin 9, then connect the mute leads on the parrot wiring up I think I used Mute 2. This then mutes ALL speakers including the central one and puts external on the display when the kit is being used

Regarding the SAT NAV coming over your call, I do believe it will still sound sat nav messages, but all other radio functions are muted when you are on the phone.

How much it talks over your telephone call, depends on the setting of the Nav Announcement in the settings menu (whilst in Nav mode).
In a similar manner to how you set it, relative to the radio / cd volume level.
