    Default And so it ends...

My new motor arrived at the dealers yesterday. It's an Insignia SRi Nav with 18" alloys and factory blue tooth.

I'm gutted that the Vec. is going. It's been a brilliant car. Took it from 3000 miles to 39,000 and it's never missed a beat. I think year V car it's the best I'll ever own.

It also allowed me to raise the bar when it came to detailing as the results when done properly were truly outstanding. Half hearted attempts showed up every blemish so it was a real commitment to get it right.

    Four of my favourite Pics:

This one made the 2009 calender.

    HDR image

The moment all the detailing malarkey all came together

And finally my favourite overall. It's not as good as the calender Pic. technically -and the car is stock in the photo - but it always had the look of, "SRi" to me.

This is the Insignia which will replace the Veccy tomorrow night. It has a lot to live up to.

I've really enjoyed the last four years on here despite the fact it's cost us an arm and a leg Modding the cars. .

The Insignia is having very little done other than a few Irmscher bits inside and a replacement VXR grille. Mind you I said that about the Veccy.

Best overall though has been attending the meetings both nationally and in the NW region. We've made some great friends along the way and I'm gonna really miss that. Take care all.

You'll enjoy it buddy. Oncethat is you have it you won't go back. I still have a VERY big soft spot for the Vectra C but you will soon see how the Insignia makes the Vectra feel old and how much better all round the car is.

This of course is no bad thing, a new model should make the old model feel old or the manufacturer wouldn't build it!

you'll have to forgive me but while the insignia is nice, your vectra was great.

it's looks unique rather than 'just' a hatchback.

I'm sure that the new handles better and has better features, but doesn't that vec look good.

    all the best

    David.

Best wishes and good luck with the Insignia. I have driven loads of both in daily rental form and seemed to gravitate to the Vectra myself, not saying it is better or worse it just seemed to feel better to my hands.

I hope you will remain a member and are not leaving the board totally however?

Very nice indeed. You should enjoy it just as much as the Vectra hopefully.

I know what you mean about the Vectra looking a bit dated now
