Default Bilt Hamber Autoclay 200g soft

    Hi,

I just gave my Vectra its first polish (had some mer in the shed) after it felt ok but rough due to the crap laying on top of the paint. I have read that this Bilt Hamber soft clay is good for first time users and that you can use water as an applicator, is using water ok anyone else use it with good results?

    Thanks Doughy

I did not mention that i had bought the clay from fleabay, it should arrive tomorrow. Where is Mer on the polish charts? It used to be good stuff years ago so just wondering if its still good today.

Mer is not really regarded well these days mate. I have both the Soft and Medium Bilt Hamber clays and I always use Megs LT as a lube. A weak shampoo mix will be fine mate.

For the first time of claying, you should have got medium clay mate, then regular claying with soft. I use bilthamber with just water and always works fine for me. It actually works out as one of the cheapest clays on the market as you dont need lube.
