    Smile different 0-60 times??

We have been looking at a few 1.9 cdti 16vs and have a couple of questions.

1, why is the 0-60 time on the pre facelift 8.8 and 9.8 for face lift 55 plate onwards, wondered why as its the same engine and i presume same 6 speed gearbox ??

2, How do the 1.9 16v engines take to high milage, ie 100,000 plus, as we have seen some nice looking motors with full service history with 100,000 to 130,000 on 55 and 06 and even 56 plates for around the £3500 mark but dont want to end up with something that always having something done to it

3, Do the same 16v problems ie egr, dmf etc apply to the 1.9 16v astras as well ?

    Thanks for any help

think shorter gear ratios and i think the problems apply to astra as well, if im wrong it will soon be corrected. Mines a 55 facelift and i think the 0-60 is 8.9 not 9.8

Most magazines seem to state the vectra 1.9 16v at 9.8sec 0-60 but Vx have always stated it at 8.9. The pre and post facelife have the same 0-60 but the facelift is more aerodynamic and is faster at high speeds (not a massive selling point as most of us won't be doing over a tonne to see the difference).

I would say its better to buy a high milleage 150 as most of the faults will have already been done. dmf flywheel, egr, swirl valve etc. I bought mine at 104k and its now on 122k and its been great and will be buying another one next too

That's because they conduct the test in different ways - some manufacturers quote the fastest time they can achieve (just the driver in the car, minimum fuel levels), others (such as VW) and some magazines (such as Autocar) conduct their tests with a full tank of fuel and two people in the car.

i assume all 150 will have the same faults i belive but mileage wise mines nearly 100k its not gone to bad just 3rd injector plug.... my previous vec c.. 53 plate had 80k no faults.. vec b bought 110k sold 147k nothing major both 2.2 dti's jus look for a nice decent serviced car... u could always ask the owner whats been replaced... unless the seller has only had it a short while...

0-60 times a remap can make it better... but on a diesel doesent bother me coz my fq360 evo does is it 3.9 secs which is good enough.lol

    good luck
