Default black soot/smoke under heavy load

I have a diesel express box in car, and under heavy acelleration i find it does pump out alot of black/soot smoke. I know this is the 'norm' for diesels, but it does seem excessive if i'm honest

does anyone know how to get a cleaner burn?

appart from not accellerating hard that is!!!

with the tuning box it will emit plenty of smoke. also, the airbox mod will make some cars smoke more.
However, I haven't got a box on my 150 now, and i can't see any trace of smoke at all in the mirrors under any load, even under harsh acceleration.

As i said in Winnie's thread with a box it is normal., however you say it is a bit more excessive - by how much? is it to the point where the view from the rear window is nearly blocked?

I've had the box on now for 5months and all has been well I saw the odd puff when I booted I after a long journey and that's it but now if I am in 3rd gear doing 1300 revs if I put my foot down to the floor the turbo takes ages to spin up and there is plumes of smoke from the exhaust I am not loosing any boost but it just takes ages to spin up and no where near as quick as I was a week ago the smoke is worse now as when I floor it in any gear there is plumes to the extent where the person behind me' gas to put his foglights on so yes its bad any ideas could it be the dpf getting clogged up causing slow acceleration and heavy smoke

take the box off, the engine and emmisions are specifically designed by vx to be a balance of smoke and power.

you want more power, then you get more smoke...

The box makes the car produce more smoke as your burning more fuel. It's not surprising that it will clog the dpf up quicker.

hi just a update checked pipes all are fine and the dpf saturation is 94% i take it that the dpf is nealy blocked up then that is just after a blast through the gears and back home again

if the dpf is clogged up will this cause black soot under full throttle i mean excessive smoke

also what % saturation will the engine managment light come on to tell me that it is blocked

will the saturation cause the lack of power through out the rev range

thanks i am going to take the tuning box off now and take her out see if the smoke is any better i will post once back any ideas please help as i ned the car for a long distance trip on thursday
