    Default No Power

Hi peeps, Lost all power on my vectra 1.9 cdti 150 turbo doesn't even kick in and really dangerous pulling out of side turnings and off round abouts that slow

had a look and looks as if that rod that is connected to the flaps on the inlet manafold has completely detached it self, and there is a layer of soot all over the engine when revving fumes are coming out of one of the holes where the flaps are.

So a freind of mine today managed to get the rod back on (but quite loose) and cleaned all the Gunk out of the erg valve and has improved the power a little but still very sluggish and not running right would a new inlet manafold sort this out

I'd appreciate any help and advise on this one

    many thx

    jim

With what you have described you need a new inlet manifold (and related parts), EGR etc - the job can be done between about £700 - £1200 dependant on where you go - with the fumes coming out of the swirls, there is no other option I'm afraid.

There are many inlet manifolds complete on ebay with the rod and actuator and they are fetching about £150-£200 +P+P (some have been brand new over the past few weeks).

After the trouble I had with my EGR Valve, I would recommend nothing other than a Brand New one (about £100.00 from vx).

Take the whole lot to a local garage and if they are competent enough they should be able to fit the entire thing in a couple of hundred quid.

    Good luck!
