    Default What an utter Ball-pain!

The alternator on the wife's Golf V5 packed in yesterday. So, armed with £160!! I got the correct replacement after what was an utter Bull's Nuts of job I had to strip the entire front end out release the front crossmember then swing it out to give me clearance to remove the old one.

Got one early doors from Eurocarparts and then set about another frustrating afternoon when I should be working! to fit it well all in five hours work and one functioning Golf

I did do one thing I found out on tinterweb last night, I only had one functioning remote and believed that I needed VAGcom to programme a new remote, well NO!
    simples
put working key in ignition turn-on
Close door but with window open, insert new remote in door lock and lock the door
remove the key press unlock button for two sec's till the car chirp's
    re-insert key and un-lock door

Remove old key from ignition and voila! a second working key, now why oh why does this not work with Vauxhall it would be so much more simple!!!!

Did you program the Key to the car or was it just the remote part that didn't work?

The Vec is easy to program if it was just the remote part
