Default Loss or Radio Reception after installing amps!

    Hi all,
I have a CD70 Headunit where I have just installed 2 amps a sub and some 6x9's. All works great but as soon as you turn the ignition on and the amps come on I lose radio reception from the headunit. I had the remote turn on for the amps tapped off the power antenna of the CD70 and thought this was the problem. I then changed it to the Cigarette lighter feed but the problem still persists. If I disconnect the remote lead and stopping the amps coming on all is fine. I cannot think whats causing it and I might just have to live with the poor radio reception. Any one else had this problem and sorted it? Thanks!

Could be. We drilled a new hole in the boot for a ground. Will give that a clean up.

    Another thought aswell, is

You haven't used the red/white aerial amp wire to trigger your speaker amp circuit have you, as any other load drawing power from the red/white wire will kill any radio aerial signal amplification.

I think it could be pin 13 on the CD70 head-unit.

No it was the yellow wire but I have changed it to the Cig lighter wire now. Have cleaned the earths up I used and will give it another go. Seems strange but it's definately the amps causing the problem. Also regarding the other reply I used a Caliber LT6 and tapped off the speaker cables as you said and then converted it to RCA in the boot.
