    Default Urgent help - brake pad rewind help

    Hi , Just in middle of brade pad replacement and trying to wind down the 2 hole disc , clockwise , but does not seem to be makeing any progress although turning fine, does it take a lot of winding and pressure to get the disc to go down so i can fit the new pad..??

    I HAVE HANDBRAKE OFF ALSO

    HELP URGENT PLEASE

    You do need to give it a very hard push to get it to shift backwards mate, but also make sure you've cracked open the bleed nipple...

    Spot on Guys , i got there in the end....if not i might have had to take a couple of days off work .. , especially with the Footy being on..lol

    Just done mine and my bleed nipple was stuck solid..not wanting to break it off i undid the fluid reservoir against the advice in the haynes manual which said i could contaminate the abs system but it worked and went in a lot easier but watch the level of your fluid reservoir as mine overflowed slightly...saved some big blisters on the palms of my hands..lol

    IIRC peugeots are the same, so one side doesn't unwind itself when the handbrake is used.
