Default mondy tdci 130 v vec cdti 150

my mate has a mondy tdci 130bhp and i have a cdti sri 150bhp on a 08 plate,he had a go of my car and he says that his feels faster than mine,in time i quite fancy a mondy st 155bhp but i didnt think they would be much difference in the power, but if he thinks his 130 is faster than mine a 155 must be quite quick,or is he winding me up wot do you guys think

the fors dtci is a very good power plant and side by side there is very littel in it .

race him and you may see just how close he is in you mirror and he will be filling it with ford

the ford dosnt revs as high and thats where you get the extra over him and that is it .

out of the box the ford is a far better car over the vectra but when the vectra has been modded the ford falls very quickly down the road on the power but with ford closer gearing it will always fell so fast to drive

The gearing is shorter on his, it's a much closer ratio box. If you compare the same gear then his will feel more torquey but it won't keep up with you on the move because he will have to change gear long before you.

I don't find this on the road, the Vectra seems to have better pull and can easily put one behind - infact I recently had a "do" with a ST and I can certainly say, it wasn't quicker!!!

It is due to the low revving engine that there is more torque but the downside is the lack of power though, but that is the way deisels should be - low revving with bags of pulling power

Great engine the TDCI and has a ahit load of torque unfortunately they suffer with failing DMF's as and Injectors. but when they are going they are great. loved mine untill the DMF killed itself. And mine was a standard 130, When i went to get it remapped i found out it was putting out 142 BHP as standard. They do feel very quick due to the torque.
