What fault code reader for a 2005 1.9 CDTI?

Hi,
Having trawled around the forum I see references to fault code readers for approximately £80. However they don't say what make or where to get them.
No readers/software mention specifically a 2005 1.9 CDTI. Often says diesels to 2004 (old DTI's I presume).
My cheap memoscan U480 connects but says no codes.
The MIL is on and the car is in a very limp home mode.

I'd rather go on specific recomendation.
The pedal trick doesn't work!

Hi mate

I got an RAC one from argos it cost about 40/50 pound it comes with a book of fault codes aswell. It saved me £100 in garge bills.

bugga, i just bought a u480 for my cdti 150 should be arriving tomorrow

As long as it reads the fault code and can reset the codes it's cheper that the dealers!
