Default Utah firing squad executes US killer

I see that there has been an execution in the USA by (of all things) firing squad.

I suppose I'm not the only one who'd like to see a few more murderers executed but by firing squad? I just can't understand why this evil, warlike nation even considers itself to be civilised!

    and i quote

    "
Four of the .30 calibre Winchester rifles were loaded with live bullets but a fifth carried a blank, so that none of the men would have known with certainty that he had shot a lethal round.
Gardner was hooded and strapped to a black metal chair, with a white target pinned to his chest.
He was asked if he had any final words and said: "I do not. No."
Gardner was then shot at a range of 25ft (7.6m) and pronounced dead at 0020 local time.
Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff used the Twitter micro-blogging site to say he had given the go-ahead for execution.
"May God grant him the mercy he denied his victims," Mr Shurtleff tweeted."

.30 calibre at 25 feet WTF talk about overkill and a metal chair ...i'm suprised no one was killed or injured by richochettes

nice to see the sherrif tweets his dealings as well

Personally I think it should happen more often it would lessen the strain on us by keeping these people in prison for the rest of their lifes at our expense and might actually act as a warning

And as for Human Rights why should we worry about theirs? Lets give their HR the same consideration they give their victims and the family of their victims
