    Default ciggy lighter

ive bought a ciggy lighter from e bay vx logo , when i have tried it it does not work, ive got the flap thing covering the slot,

ive heard loads of stuff about wether it is aux or not ?

i have just replaced the fuse as that had blown, phone charger works but mot the ciggy lighter ?

i have also removed the ash tray to find there is 2 wires to the lighter and also a connector that is not attached to anything, any ideas

The connector have a yellow/grey wire... Thats for the light on the cig surround...

Not sure if correct but think you need to replace the power slot with a cig one...

The spare wires will probably be for the ashtray illumination if you don't have it fitted

My cig lighter socket has three wires going to it,
    black - ignition live
    Yellow/grey - illumination
    Brown - earth
The other connector you have will be for the ashtray illumination, an led that clips onto the side of the ashtray housing.

If you've got the 12v socket, are you interested in swapping it for the ciggy lighter that I have in my car - and never use. I'd need the socket assembly as well as the trim that goes around the socket - the grey painted part - as it's slightly different on each type. I'd send you the ciggy lighter complete and my bit of corresponding trim.

Yep, you should have a fully working ciggy lighter as it sounds like you have all the wiring there, including the one for the ashtray.

I'm assuming the trim will match as I'm assuming you have the metallic grey trim that is in all/most of our cars?
