Thumbs down knocking From Right Rear Driving Me Mad

I have got a knock coming from the right rear corner around about where the shocker mounts on but not sure where to start looking. Vauxhall tried to have a look but said all the bushes where fine and did not find anything wrong but they said there is a detinate knocking sound from somewhere. It only happens at low speed and on some corners but its getting anoying now as I seem to listen for it all the time.I am going to drop the arch liner out tomorrow and have a look underneath. The only other thing I can think it is would be a shocker rattle so any more advice would help please.I may try to change the shocker if I find nothing and see what happens. There are no leaks and the shocker seems fine but I did have a problem like this on a cavalier I had a few years ago.

If nothing is evident Telboy it's most likely the shocker

Make sure you do the pair m8, never replace 1 side on its own.

Don't forget shocks should ideally be replaced in pairs or you could find the handling off-balance.

I had similar problem knocking noise from rear left and serious bouncing round bumpy bends. Took it to Vaux who confirmed the rear shocks were seized. They presented me with a quote of £224 to change them.

went home and cried then put this forum on and only 3 days ago changed them myself took about 20 minutes and only cost me £29 each from local car accesory shop.

What a saving and if Vaux shocks are prone to seizing at ridiculous low mileage then theres no way im putting there shocks on my car again.

I was driven to near distraction with what i thought were all kinds of weird and wonderful noises from my sri and eventually found that the pads were rattling in caliper (bought the car with after market pads) and when that noise was gone got rid of the rear bumper was slightly lose in palces so took of and refitted and now all nice and quite. Just a thought as saving time and possible money.
    Good luck
