Default A clean and a wet sand!

I have had this nasty scratch on the rear door since I bought the car. A while ago I bought a touch up kit from paints4u and decided to use it this afternoon.

Now while its not perfect its a lot better than it was and there is no scratch to "feel" when you put your hand over it.

The process was to clay the door, clean the scratch out and wet sand the old paint that had been badly applied by the last owner. I then cleaned the scratch again with the soloution in the kit and painted it so it slightly overfilled the stratch. Then when dry, sanded it back down with some 2500 grit paper. Then machined with a DAS6, spot pad and 3m FCP followed by 3m Extra fine.

Now I know I should have taken a lot more pics but I wasn't going to write it up but found a free few mins to do it.

Its still visable when viewed straight on but its a vast improvement over what it was like before. (clear reflection shot too )

The car then got cleaned and treated to some autobrite very cherry glaze

Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Its not over yet. I need to clean the exhaust tips, clay the whole car and machine polish the whole thing. Although after today I feel a bit more confident about it

(that very cheery glaze is the dogs too as it doesn't dry whire if you get it on the plastics )
