Default hello new member wanting advice

Hello, I have just bought this signum 2.2 ele. 2003
before i bought it i became a member and did a lot of reading, to find faults that i should look out for when buying.
the only 2 I found where fuel pump and time chain , and nozzle.

previous owner got the fuel pump done a month ago. with receipt. I also checked and the pump looks shinny and new,

He said he has change the cam chain tensioner, but i have no proof of that.
so i am in the making of getting benny to do a full cam chain kit install.

When car is running idle i can here the chain moving in the engine. its not loud.
and i dont know if thats just how these engine sound, its now silent smooth like my VW passat. and info?

So is there any other faults i should check for with this car?
The car has done 45,000 miles with full service history

and also what version screen or part number should buy to change this to colour screen, thats if the colour screen will work with is car,

    few pic below
    Regards

Certainly looks a nice clean motor you have there mate, one thing I would say is watch out with that air freshner in the air vent as these vent slats are quite delicate and break easily, sounds like you have the Direct engine there and as well as the pump being changed was the fuel regulator changed under recall? as these appear to be the cause of the pumps going, as far as chain is concerned if you're in any doubt about it either get it listened to at a VX garage or bite the bullet and get it replaced as a matter of caution, although the chain and nozzle should have had the revised one on that engine and mainly the Z22se engine (non-direct) was subject to issues with chain and nozzle, you just never know, anyway all the best with it mate.
    Cheers Pete

If it's an early 2003 model, then it's the non-direct 2.2 (z22se engine). But it does look like it has the direct badge on the back so it may be an early direct one which is the z22yh engine.

    About 10bhp

    Non-direct (z22se) is 143bhp.

    Direct (z22yh) is 154bhp I believe.

Both are good solid engines, the only real issues being the cam chains, but you hear them a long time before they go. The direct also has the fuel pump issue, but as you say that's already been sorted on yours.

Put the air freshener on the rear vents (the ones at the back of the centre armrest), as they don't tilt the same way as the front vents do.
