Exclamation should i cut my losses

had vectra 2004/54 1.9 cdti sri 150 since 30 april this year costing me £4k + 82.50tax, extra insurance while selling the other car which is now £150
upon buying the car i found i needed DMF so had the DMF clutch and slave fixed for £700
upon registering on here i have now found out the bar is off the manifold, this will cost me around £375 to sort including the swirl motor
3rd injector needs the mod £28
plus i have the severe turbo lag under the 2k revs
i really am not a man with money to throw at this car as i will not have any money to spare after doing all these, it will be all gone.
want to try the manifold as i cleaned boost sensor and egr valve although the egr valve may need replacing £100

adding all this up is costing me around 5.5k for a 4k car

what would you do as i really liked the look of the car but if i dont find the turbo lag problem amongst all this then i will be well p****d off and have no money and no enjoyment

    serious replys only please

I would say you've covered the majority of expensive things, you'll not see much of that money back if any if you sell it so if it was me I'd hang onto it.

Should have bought a petrol, apart from a possible DMF they have far fewer faults. The extra you have paid would have kept the difference in MPG for ages depending on your milage.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

have a look around the forums there is some threads on cheap ways to fix the manifold bar. 3rd injector can be fixed for £12 if you own a soldering iron. EGR you might be able to clean it.

You take a chance with any used car whether its petrol or diesel. Wouldn't imagine "you should have bought a petrol" is the most helpful advice he's gonna get.

trying the fix at mo for manifold but he is going to take it out to have a good look and see how shot it is? engine is not very clean as i think it has been running for some time with the bar off
can use a soldering iron so that changes that down to £12
