You put it in after the air filter AND the MAF sensor. If you sprey it over the MAF sensor it may ruin it!

Have bought the De-Coke but havent found time to do it. Just follow the instructions on the can and/or on the how2 on this site.

Yea that's where I seen it the how2 just wondered if anybodys done it on the DTI. I'm abit worried tbh incase it brings the spanner light on and don't go out

I'm worried to try this tbh incase it brings the spanner Light on and won't go off, can this do any real harm to engine or parts

Sounds like this chap didnt take off the MAF and has spreyed it in the air inlet at the front grill. This means it would have had to pass through the air filter first and then over the MAF sensor. This means he probably didnt get the full benefit if the de-coke. This is also the reason he didnt get the spanner light is because he didnt disconnect the MAF sensor and spray past it. He may have risked ruining the MAF sensor doing it this way as well. Once the MAF part of the system is replaced and everything is air tight the spanner light will go off. In the unlikely event it does stay on disconnect the battery for 30mins and then reconnect. that should clear the fault.

Here is the HOW2 for the de-coke, on a CDTI anyway, but same method for all I guess?

Just make sure you spray AFTER THE MAF.

did my 2.2dti today. I didnt get any smoke what so ever. There was a slight hesitation in the tubo under acceleration but not any more. A definate improvement. Will have to wait and see if the mpg has improved.
