Phew....!!

My recently aquired vectra SRI was quite loud on the road and after spending time reading the threads was convinced I was the proud owner of a very road noise sensitive vectra that was going to drive me mad for eternity.

Car had a drone noise that kicked in about 45-50mph and continued up to 80+ which became quite tiresome - but did want confirmation that it was just my tyres so visited my local vx dealer last week to have a roadtest with a mechanic.

Went out with "Lee" to demonstrate the problem - he was convinced it was tyre noise until he drove and spend about a mile weaving across both lanes of a country road - left to right to explore the noise further.

he diagnosed a faulty wheel bearing NSR, so it went in yesterday to have it fixed under warranty. It came back last night - cured!!!

What a difference !! a quiet car!!!

Nice to hear that a dealer spent the time to find the sorce of the noise, glad you are happy with it now.

Dont start me off on annoying noises i have had 3 rear wheel bearings on my car in less than 50 miles to try and cure a noise not a fault of the car but the dealers lack of competance as it turned out to be noisey tyres still it was all under warranty !!!!!!
