is it possible to swap the boring standard lights for the led,s or is it only possible if you have the full xenon headlight setup?

There is a possibility that the Xenon ALF lights could be fitted and programmed. But the AFL functions won't work.
I am looking into this.
The DRL's on the halogen lights are dual element bulbs. It may be possible to replace with led's but then there's the issue of fooling the bulb failure monitor.
Sure I've seen a post on one of the insignia forums, will have a look.
i was hoping to replace just the day lights not the whole thing as i could imagine that getting quite expensive
The bulb for the DRL's is a twin element so is DRL and side light. A few people have replaced them with Piaa bulbs but they have a higher wattage and there have been reports of them damaging the light housing.
I bought a pair of 21w/5w LED bulbs and plugged them in. The running lamps which are the 21w part of the bulb looked excellent, bright white light and very bright. I then turned my lights on and the 5w part of the bulbs 'should' have lit and the 21w went out. All it did was started to smoke so I had to pull the bulb out.
The terminals on the bulbs are exactly the same as the original bulbs so the 21w and the 5w parts should have worked. It appears that only the 21w part was working. I have not had another look to see what the problem could be yet.
It did show a bulb out warning on the dash though.
