whilst at PVS i spoke with Thorney Motorsport's Tim Abbott regarding their show offer...... £399 (£100 off of normal retail) for superchips Bluefin units. the unit also doubles as a code reader and can be used to remove the ECU information and "immobilise" the vehicle in situ and the map can be removed the same as a BSR PPC unit - but the unit can be flashed to accept another car later...or they will buy it back off of you
Tim said that the unit would be "stage one" and give me about 20bhp (same as the newer 2.8's with a noticable increase in torque) ....but if i fitted new uprated sparkplugs and a performance filer and exhaust system then i could call them and they would update to stage 2 remap free of charge ....so quite a decent deal i thought ! - well i attempted to pay on the day with my debitcard...but SAGE was having none of it
Tim said i could pay by Cheque .... didnt have my cheque book with me ... Tim said post a Cheque and he would Honour the deal from the day !! - couldnt be any fairer than that!! - he was a compelte gentleman and the customer service was excellent
so when i got home i wrote the cheque and posted it in Mondays Post...
email from TNT yesterday(Tuesday) saying the unit would be shipped that night
8.45am this morning..the unit arrived I followed the proceedure read my cars ecu and sent the file to superchips ......and 10 minutes later recieved a text message to say the map was ready to download
I downloaded the map and loaded it to the car at lunchtime ...it took about 2 minutes total very quick and a confirmation message recieved on the device to say its loaded ...then I read the Superchips website blurb, they state on their site a 59bhp gain on the map???? so slightly confused i sent them an email and indeed they confirmed that my map i have downloaded is indeed a 59BHP so in theory 289bhp Signum
i have as yet to test it.......i didnt want to drive it at lunchtime ....because i probably wouldnt have come back to work .....i'll update you on the "drive" later
thanks for reading
regards
