Default Trouble removing oil filter cover on 3.2

    Hi all,

Have any of you other 3.2 guys had trouble removing the oil filter cover?
It is really stuck on and will not budge. the housing behind it spins before the cap will come off.
Last time i broke the cap and had to replace it and i even torqued it up to the recormended 12nm stamped on it.

I have a theory that it expands due to it being alloy and next to the front cat.
    what you guys think?

    thanks,

I had to use an oil filter wrench to hold the housing on mine, but I didn't break it.

what type did you use? was it one of the webbing style ones?
I have tried that and it did not budge.

I was planing to try and remove it with the engine cold to see if that works.

Cheers big sig. i have both of them and they did not help.
I am going to try my plan of trying to crak it off while the engine is cold.
