    Default Over heating???

    My misses has rang me today and said that she thinks the car is over heating ( temperture is at 90 )?? not sure if it is or not? if it is what are the common causes or how can i fix this problem!

    90 is normal operating temprature if it goes above halfway over towards 100 and above then worry.

    Forgot to say i have a signum 2.2 elite. Its bang on 90 she said but will know more tomorrow when im back from work!

    Just as well it reads the temperature of the coolant and not the metal!

    mine reads 90 to bud its normal

    as long as its between 90 and 100 thats fine above that then you have a problem, highway driving 90 and a little below. inner city for a hour or two on a warm day 95 to 100 max.

    if your a little worried add 1 liter of water only when stone cold, excess water will be escape via expansion tank.

    if your adding water a lot check your car for recall ( expansion tank replacement )

    85-90 when moving, 90-93ish when stopped waiting for the fan to cut in

    Only the 2.8t v6 has a recall on expansion tanks.
