    Default Handbrake issue

Had the dreaded cracking / clonking sound when applying the handbrake some months ago , which seemed to disappear, but now it's back!! had a look at the pads etc and all seems good with plenty of meat left on the rear pads, wondering if it's where the pads are wearing and slack appears in the handbrake cable as it were and what with the wind in pistons etc is there anyway to reset at all, by some sort of combination of pressing pedal and pulling at handbrake etc?
    Cheers Pete

You could try holding the brake pedal down and pumping the handbrake a few times to auto adjust the cable.

Cheers mate, funnily enough I did that last in anger, foot hard down on the pedal and yanked the damn handbrake up and down like a crazed animal , in sheer temper with this car!! seems every week there's something to worry about with these ****** cars, Tin-Pot Vauxhall I suppose, what more can you say!! LOL, and worst still it goes in for it's MOT Saturday and I'm a bag of nerves about that already LOL, anyway the handbrake seemed a bit better!
    Cheers Pete
