Carrying on from the blackhole thread i thought i would put up some pics of the car after the rain had stopped tonight,
Just to give an indication of what results can be acheived with blackhole optiseal and butterwax.
The second part to this is show us your beading results and include what products were used to acheive this

Looking at your pics I would say I managed roughly the same effect with Autoglym SRP then AG Extra Gloss, then finished off with Collinite 915.

Cant show you though as the weather forecast is sunshine all week

Is it just me, or is it never quite the same again after a couple of washes? I think all waxes give good beading when first applied but its how long they last which matters.

Exactly, I have found good results - i.e. upto 6 months good beading - with a few waxes now, so a couple of washes isn't very good, how many coats are you applying, you need at least 2 to get an even coverage to start with.

I find that, on mine, Colli 915 will last about six months and still bead quite well towards the end when topped off with Meg's LT after every wash. Mind you, the car only gets washed once or twice a month and often a non-touch wash with just snow foam and, as said, a wipe down with Last Touch.

I've just washed, clayed & am half way through polishing mine ATM, hopefully glaze & wax tomorrow and I'll get some beading pics up asap, well, as soon as it rains, which shouldn't be too long living in Manchester.

Typical isn't it, I am in Lancs too and no sign of rain...

The finish on mine hasn't lasted long in the past because I was using an inferior product. Just started using Colli 915 and very pleased with it. Didn't know I should be applying something else after each wash though. I am just washing with Turtle Zip Wax and sponge.

I said it wouldn't be long before it rained up here.

I've only managed to get one coat of Collinite 915 on so far but this was how it was beading this morning:

    Bonnet:

    Roof:

I hope to get another couple of coats on over the next couple of days, if the rain will stop, then the beading usually gets a lot tighter.

Great pics AntB i used use colli 915 all year round but now i only use it over the winter time, the reason being is that butter wax is so much easier to put on and take off during the summer months when the temperature,s are higher its a real pleasure to work with.
