Its not supposed to open the boot. It beeps to tell you it has unlocked the boot. You still got to get out the car and open it with the button on the boot!!!

Unlock!!! I've got my car set to lock everything when i drive away so it might lock it aswell. You'll have to try it!!!

Alternatively you should have a boot button on your key fob. That does the same and just unlocks the boot!!!

As Tom said it simply unlocks the boot, enabling you then to go and physically open it. Pushing the button again doesn't lock it again, it locks either by you using the lock button on the door before driving off, or it will lock automatically something like 30 secs after being closed/unlocked.

Yep, that's about the only way that you can lock your keys in the car - as other guys have found out!

Unlock boot (only) from fob, get stuff out/put stuff in, put down keys in boot in the process, close boot, 30 secs later boot locks, realisation as it dawns what's happened -

You'll find also, that if you have the engine running after parking up somewhere, the boot will refuse to open if you don't press the button on the door switch panel.... It's meant to be a security feature

it also puts on the no plate lamps to let you know its "unlocked" will remain unlocked for 10 minutes if not opened before relocking
