certainly. BMW 330d (3l single turbo), 335d (3l twin turbo - 280bhp), Skoda vRS 170bhp, Golf 2.0TDi GTD 170bhp, Seat Leon FR 170 bhp, Mercedes Benz C220 CDi, Audi 2.7 TDi V6 Quattro 204 bhp, BMW 123d 204bhp.
Take your pick. This is only to name a few. What about the Alfa 159 2.4 V6 JTD over 200 bhp.
EDIT: Don't know if you could tell, I'm well into performance diesels and see which is the best performance for money.
Did you not realise this when you were going to buy it
I havn't driven or owned a 2.0 turbo petrol car,as i know its not going to be the best on mpg from the minute it is started, which is why i look for a diesel car every time, but saying that,if driven hard,a turbo diesel car isn't going to be the best on mpg,i have found the 1.9 cdti the best for power and economy, from the cars i have owned, although i did have 2.0 8 valve cavaliers years ago, that were both powerful and economical at the time.
What about the Saab 9-3 1.9 TTiD? 178 bhp. Similar to the vectra then. OR you could wait until the end of the year and wait for Vauxhall's twin turbo Astra which should be good for 200bhp.
The biggest thing with the BMW's is the insurance. the 330d/335d is insurance group 15 at least. Pure beast. The 335d is good for 320bhp with a remap from DMS automotive. Impressive stuff. Focus RS, coming to get you
